MY DYSTOPIAN COLLECTION “NEVER AGAIN”
Artist Statement: As an artist, I aim to create thought-provoking works that bring attention to important issues and elicit emotional reactions from viewers. I was moved to create "Kuwait 1991" after seeing a shocking picture in The Weekend Financial Times on May 11th, 1991, displaying the burning oil wells, an environmental and humanitarian disaster. My mixed media 3D acrylics on wood, "The Attack I & II," and my two mixed media slogan abstract collages, "Why I & II," reveal the apocalyptic dimensions of the 9/11 attacks. The series culminates in my depiction of the bombardment of Baghdad on March 21st, 2003, highlighting the devastating impact of war on innocent civilians. Through my art, I hope to raise awareness of these critical issues and inspire positive change in the world.
